Adequate preparation of information and assignment of suitable spokesman are critical for making prompt responses to media enquiries. The HKIE is setting up 6 working groups, led by the President, the Officers and the Chief Executive and Secretary, to explore topical issues with a high tendency for media enquiries, develop the information base and identify representatives for the respective topics. Young members are invited to join the working groups to gain media exposure.

The young members will have opportunities to:

• Shadow the Officers and gain media experience;

• Observe how senior figures in the industry handle media enquiries;

• Conduct research and have a deeper understanding on engineering-related matters; and

• Gain experience and networking development outside own working environment

The Scheme will last for one year.
