Programme Highlights
The North East New Territories (NENT) Landfill is
one of the three existing strategic landfills in Hong Kong. It is located in the northeastern part of Hong
Kong with a total capacity up to 35 million cubic metres. The NENT Landfill is managed under a
Design-Build-Operate contract arrangement. It
is developed with modern landfilling design and construction, environmental
control measures, landfill gas collection and utilisation, as well as leachate
treatment and management.
The visit
includes a bus tour visiting
the Landfill Gas Treatment Unit,
Leachate Treatment Plant and landfilling operations.
Transportation will be provided and pick up at Fanling MTR Station.

The visit is free of charge and the
number of participants is limited to 28. The applications will be accepted on a
first-come first-served basis with priority given to Registered Young Members.
