The seminar is
part of the local series of Overseas
Delegation 2017 to Iceland “Climate Change: the Happening”.
The United Nations Convention of Climate Change has
made a key step in combating climate change - The Paris Agreement. Entered into
force on 4 November 2016, the Paris Agreement aims to keep the global
temperature rise below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and to
limit temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius. The Agreement also aims to
strengthen countries’ adaptations to climate change. Supports will be given to
developing countries and transparency of actions will be ensured.
In this seminar,
Ir Otto Poon will share his views on the implication of Paris agreement and the impact of it on
the engineering industry, both local and worldwide.
The seminar will be conducted in English.
