Mr. KANG Min-soo, Deputy Project Manager of 3rd Runway – DCM works project (C3202)

Mr. KANG has over 23 years of experience for Research & Development, Project proposal & Tender works and Global Business Development in civil engineering and construction industries. He has been working on various major marine and port projects in Korea and overseas related with Dredging and Reclamation, Ground Improvement and Large-scale Marine Structures. The major field of his expertise lies on Geotechnical Engineering specially on soft soil improvement and treatment with reclaimed land on marine soft soils. He is still actively involved in a number of technology development for construction methods.

Programme Highlights

Hong Kong is well known as a place with limited flat lands, land resources have become very precious for development. Reclamation and construction on sea are treated as part of the solutions to overcome the land problems, examples including the coming Hong Kong International Airport Third Runway.

During the seminar, the speaker will discuss on brief mechanism of soft soil improvements and share his major project cases in both local and overseas, as well as lesson learned from the projects. The speaker will also include sharing of some marine structures like seawalls, caissons even some sea-crossing bridges.
