Programme HighlightJointly Organised with Royal Institution
of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), this technical visit to the International
Gateway Centre (IGC), offers participants an immersive understanding of
one of Hong Kong’s most significant large-scale mixed‑use developments.
Strategically positioned above the West Kowloon High Speed Rail Terminus, IGC
exemplifies world‑class connectivity, sustainable design excellence, and
innovative engineering solutions that respond to the needs of a modern urban
district.
The visit aims to showcase how IGC’s integrated planning—encompassing
site connectivity, district‑enhancing greenery, technical design innovation,
and construction excellence—contributes to shaping a vibrant and sustainable
urban gateway for Hong Kong.
The participants
may:
- Understand IGC’s superior site connectivity, built
directly above the High Speed Rail station and linked to Airport Express, MTR
lines, and the upcoming 1.5‑km Sky Walk connecting Jordan, Yau Ma Tei, and the
harbourfront.
- Explore greenery and public space design,
including extensive landscaped terraces, plazas, and open spaces integrated
with the West Kowloon Parkway and station rooftop park.
- Learn about the project’s uniqueness, featuring
Zaha Hadid Architects’ iconic design, world‑class sustainability
certifications, and large‑scale Grade‑A office and retail offerings.
- Gain insights into construction and technical
challenges, such as building atop an operating rail terminus and applying
advanced methods.
