Programme Highlights
Lamma Power Station has provided electricity in Hong
Kong Island, Ap Lei Chau and Lamma Island for more than 40 years. The Station
has a total installed capacity of 3,402 MW with 5 coal-fired units, 5
open-cycle gas turbine units, 3 gas-fired combined cycle units, 1 wind turbine
and 1 solar power system. The Station provides stable electricity supply to
customers, with reliability of more than 99.999%.
In this event, participants will be given a guided
tour of the Lamma Power Station, covering the visitor centre, central control
room, the new viewing gallery of the gas fired power plant and the thin film
photovoltaic (TFPV) solar system. Participants could understand the Station
overview and operation mechanism of the Lamma Power Station, and realise the
environmental measures taken to reduce emissions.
**This
event is open to a Best Reporter Award. The best report will be chosen by the
hosts and 500HKD will be awarded to the winner. For details, please refer to
the “HKIE YMC Rules of Best Reporter Award”.
Registration & Enquiries
The number
of participants is limited to 30 and prior registration is required. Safety
helmets will be provided. Other PPE and greed cards or other equivalent are not
required. The applicants will be accepted on a first-come-first served basis
with priority given to Registered Young Members.
