Programme highlights
The Cattle Depot was one of the city’s first clusters of art studios.
Built in 1908, it served as a slaughterhouse and quarantine base, and was revitalized
into a local art village in 2001, to accommodate local artists relocated from
the Oil Street art colony in North Point. This is also the only pre-war slaughterhouse
which still existed in Hong Kong.
This cultural tour will be led by an experienced heritage expert to
explain the history and development of the Cattle Depot, to let participants
understand the conservation and appreciation of heritage and historic places,
and their importance in the life of the community. Apart from learning the cultural
and social elements of the depot, participants can also join the Art Jamming
session to enjoy Pastel Nagomi Art at the
historic architecture under the relaxing atmosphere.
