Seminar on the effectiveness of the HKIE Scheme "A" for civil engineering graduates

Programme highlights
This seminar will present the findings of a doctoral research, including:
a) The origin and developments of Scheme "A" (Civil);
b) The relevancy and sufficiency of Scheme "A" to train civil engineering graduates to become professional engineers;
c) The credibility of professional assessment in determining whether a trained candidate is ready to be qualified;
d) How successful are Scheme "A" civil trainees in their professional assessment;
e) Whether trainees have been spending enough effort to achieve the prescribed training objectives necessary for professional qualification.

Speaker
Ir Dr W H Fok is director projects of Evans & Peck. He was a training leader (Civil) of Ove Arup and Partners Hong Kong Limited for 12 years. He has been an engineering supervisor of many graduates under the HKIE Scheme "A" (Civil), mentor of trainees under IStructE's individually managed IPD and lead assessor/reviewer of professional assessments/reviews of the HKIE, ICE and IStructE for years. He is a Fellow of the HKIE, ICE, IStructE, IHT, CIArb and HKIArb.

This seminar is free of charge and prior registration is required. The number of participants is limited to 80 and applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
