In the face of climate change, cyber threats and
other urban challenges, YMC has conducted a study into the current status of
Hong Kong and organized a delegation to New York from 30 March to 7 April 2018
with the theme of “The Future of Global Cities”.
This seminar will highlight insights aiming to
future-proof Hong Kong and, in particular, presenting findings on a range of
aspects, including physical and social resilience against extreme weather, an
innovative design approach incorporating IoT, indicators on measuring a city’s
performance and a review of our cybersecurity actions.

The research team conducted a comparative study
through completing 15 technical visits overseas, and 10 local seminars/visits
to various actors of the state, scholars, private and nonprofit sectors.
