Seminars on advanced engineering application in emergency relief mission - Emergency power, vehicle and logistics management

Programme highlights
It is well-understood that professional engineers provide essential technical support to different international emergency relief missions, but what are these technical support in actual? How can engineers in different disciplines apply their particular knowledge to help saving thousands of lives in poverty, famine, warfare, natural disaster? In this series of seminars, our young engineers will be guided through a brief introduction on the role of engineers in emergency relief missions and follow by different application of engineering knowledge and judgement within the missions includeing

1) Introductory session: general idea about emergency engineering (13 November 2008)
2) Emergency shelter and camp planning (20 November 2008)
3) Emergency power, vehicle and logistics management (27 November 2008)
4) Water, sanitation and waste management (4 December 2008)

Registration & enquiries
Prior registration is required and registration can be made to a particular seminar. The number of participants is limited to 80 and applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
