ReportHelpers Orientation Day
By Mr Henry KWOK
To engage with and encourage young members to participate in
the Institution’s activities, the YMC organised the captioned
event on 7 September 2024, to great
success. The primary
objective of the event was to bring together existing helpers,
introduce new faces who just joined us as helpers, foster connections among participants,
build team spirit among them, and familiarise everyone present with the development
and operations of the YMC.
As the YMC’s 40th Anniversary
approaches, we are planning a number of special events to celebrate the special occasion. Since our helpers are undoubtedly an integral part of the YMC and are vital for how the celebration will be conducted, we felt the need to engage with them and explain our plans in some detail.
The Chairperson of the YMC, Ms Keiko KAM, kicked off the Day with some energetic welcoming
remarks and introduced the numerous exciting events for the year ahead. Her remarks were followed by an ice-breaking session, during which our participants quickly
introduced themselves to each other. Then our human resource group
coordinator introduced the history, organizational structure, and aims of the
YMC. Different working group coordinators were also present to introduce
the aims of their various working groups and their planned events for the year.
Before the end of the Orientation Day, a mingling
session with refreshments was held. Our YMC helpers took this opportunity to chat freely among themselves and contribute ideas on the future of the
YMC.
The YMC is still recruiting new members to
help organise a wide variety events for the Institution. If you are
passionate about meeting new friends and serving our members and the Institution,
please do not hesitate to join us as a helper.
