[Postponed] Technical Visit to Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works Relocation Project

Programme Highlights

 

In recent years, rock cavern development has become a hot topic in the city. It is one of the Government’s multi-pronged strategies to increase land supply, which is of great importance to Hong Kong’s long-term development.

 

In the visit, participant will be introduced to the largest ongoing cavern development project in Hong Kong, with various new technologies, such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) as well as the design principle of relocation works, innovative environmental protection measures and construction technologies adopted in the project.

 

Participant will be given a presentation regarding the hard rock excavation method and a highlight of the Project, following by a guided tour to the site to understand more site operation.

This event is free of charge and limited to 25 participants.  Applications will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis with priority given to Registered Young Members (RYMs).  For registration, please visit:

Participants are required to:

 

1. Bring a valid Green Card or equivalent credentials;

2. Wear their own safety shoes;

3. Hold a proof of negative COVID-19 test result within 14 days or record of having 2 doses of vaccination for more than 14 days;

3. Wear a surgical mask during the technical visit; and

4. Use "LeaveHomeSafe" app to scan site QR code upon arrival;
