Programme Highlights
In view of the scarce water resources in Hong Kong, Water Supplies Department has been implementing the Total Water Management Strategy to diversify water supply resources and develop new water resources. The Tseung Kwan O Desalination Plant adopted advanced water treatment technology, reverse osmosis, to produce potable water from seawater. This technical visit will introduce the design principle of water treatment such as reverse osmosis technology, smart site management, green features and construction technologies adopted in this project.
In this visit, participant will be given a presentation regarding to the water treatment techniques and highlight on the technologies of the project, followed by a guided tour to the site around the desalination plant and control centre to understand how the desalination plant operates.

Participants are required to:
1. Bring valid Green Card or equivalent;
2. Wear own safety shoes;
3. Wear surgical mask during visit.
4. Scan "Leave Home Safe" QR code upon arrival on site;
5. Complete health declaration form and indemnity form (distributed upon successful application) before visiting.
