Programme Highlights
The existing Shek Wu Hui Sewage Treatment Works
(SWHSTW), commissioned in 1984, is the first large-scale secondary sewage
treatment plant in Hong Kong. To cater
for the growing population, the existing SWHSTW is now being upgraded to an
Effluent Processing Plant (SWHEPP).
Upon completion, the treatment capacity of the SWHEPP will be increased
by 2-fold.
During the visit, participant will be introduced with the new
sewage treatment technologies adopted in the project, including the Thermal
Hydrolysis Process System and the Biomass Reactor. In addition, participant will be able to
witness the actual implementation of smart innovations during construction,
such as the use of Early Concrete Strength Sensor.
