Webinar on Design and Application of Smoke Control Systems in Large Space Buildings

Date, time & venue

2021-02-01;18:45 - 20:15;Webinar

Programme Highlights

In view of the modern design and architectural requirements of new buildings, the engineering design of these buildings have become more complex. Fire protection strategy, in particular the adequacy of smoke control measures, is a major design element for protection of life and property.

This webinar considers some of the requirements practiced in Hong Kong and elsewhere and the needs, benefits, advantages and considerations of various arrangements and options.

In this webinar, the speaker will present the basic design principles of smoke flow by ventilation and containment measures in various building types. He will then compare the design requirements in Hong Kong and some other countries. He will also introduce the dynamic and static fire system, compare the difference in design parameters and address some of the misconceptions amongst the two systems.
