Date, time & venue

2019-07-27;9:00am to 11:00am;Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port

Programme Highlights
The 55km long Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB), comprising the 12km Hong Kong Link Road (HKLR), 29.6km Main Bridge and 13.4km Zhuhai Link Road, is the longest bridge-cum-tunnel sea crossing in the world. Operating 24 hours a day, HZMB puts major cities in the Pearl River Delta within a three hours’ commute from Hong Kong, and it will take only 40 minutes to travel the distance of approximately 42km from Hong Kong Port to Zhuhai Port and Macao Port. The functions of HZMB are to meet the demand of passenger and freight land transport among Hong Kong, the Mainland (especially the region of Pearl River West) and Macao, to establish a new land transport link between the east and west banks of the Pearl River, and to enhance the economic and sustainable development of the three places.

The project also includes two artificial islands for the tunnel landings west of the HKSAR boundary; and associated works including civil and structural works, environmental mitigation, drainage, electrical and mechanical, traffic control and surveillance system, etc. This visit will include an introduction of the overall design and facilities of HZMB Hong Kong Port and HKLR, and a tour to the main facilities up to the HKLR turnaround facilities.
