Programme Highlights
For more and more aged
buildings are turning up in Hong Kong, being a Registered Inspector (RI) or Quality
Person (QP) under the Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme (MBIS) or Mandatory
Window Inspection Scheme (MWIS) initiated by Buildings Department may be a new
career opportunity for young engineers.
The sharing will be
separated into 2 parts. In the first session, Ir HO will bring us:

overview of MBIS & MWIS;
-
progress and challenges of Implementation;
-
duties of RI/QP and the prerequisite of becoming a
RI/QP
Whilst Ir
LEUNG will share challenges & difficulties encountered during inspection as
a practicing RI’s point of view.

Ir HO is currently working in Mandatory Building Inspection Division to deal
with the matters related to the implementation of MBIS & MWIS since 2015.
- Ir Ben LEUNG, Director of C M Wong
& Associates Limited (AP, RSE and RI)
Ir LEUNG has over 20 years’ experience in planning, design, project
administration and supervision of structural & geotechnical engineering
projects. He has extensive experience on MBIS over 100 buildings in HK.
