Programme Highlights
YMC organized an Overseas Delegation to Iceland from 18 to 26 March 2017
with the theme of “Climate Change: the Happening”, and the three areas of
study: “Climate Change: A Global Challenge”, “Hong Kong Story: Engineers’
Responsibility” and “Towards a fossil fuel-free city”. During the delegation,
delegates visited different engineering companies and government agencies like
National Energy Authority, Environmental Agency and Mannvit Engineering etc.
They also had valuable opportunities to visit the Ljósafoss Hydropower Station
and Hellisheidi Geothermal Power Station. Furthermore, the delegates enriched both
technical and interpersonal skills through exchanges with the engineers and professionals
of the University of Iceland and the Iceland Green Building Council. It had
been an invaluable journey
that the delegates explored the wondrous sceneries and engineering developments
in Iceland.
In the presentation, delegates will share with the audiences what they
have learnt and observed from this delegation. They will also introduce a
delegation report to be distributed to the visited agencies and engineering
companies in Iceland and Hong Kong.
