Programme Highlights
As a young engineer,
we apply our creativity and knowledge to solve challenging problems in our
daily work basis, but have you ever thought of practicing your engineering
abilities in daily life and helping the children in underprivileged families?
HKIE-YMC Community Service Group will support the St. James’ Settlement to organize a three-day project “Brighten Children’s Home Project”
in the Tsuen Wan District.
In this 3-day project, our target is to help children and
parents from underprivileged families creating a proper and safe study
environment at their homes, and we will focus on the families in Tsuen Wan
district. The participants will work in groups (2-4 people) and be responsible for
2-3 families. This project also requires the participants to attend three
consecutive Saturdays in May and the detail is shown below:

This project will
surely be a meaningful opportunity for you to experience the study difficulties
of children in underprivileged families and apply your professional skills in
real life. More importantly your help will inspire the children and possibly
bring a huge impact to them in the future. Please come and join us as a volunteer, and you are welcome
to join with your other YMC friends together to form your own work group (state it in the remarks section
of the application form).

The Brighten Children’s project is free of charge and the number of
participants is limited to 16.
The applications will be accepted on a
first-come first-served basis with priority given to Registered Young Members.
