In this seminar, the speaker will address the routes to professional gas engineers in Hong Kong, covering the membership of the HKIE and IGEM (Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers). He will also introduce the available courses in Hong Kong for any interested individuals in advancing their knowledge or personal development in gas engineering, including a Professional Diploma in Gas Engineering jointly offered by the Vocational Training Council (VTC) and the Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited.

Speaker’s Bio

Ir Peter Chak is a Fellow of the HKIE and a Fellow of the IGEM. He is now the Chairman of HKIE-Gas & Energy Division and the Chairman of HKIE-MI Discipline Advisory Panel. Also, he was the past Chairman of the Manufacturing and Industrial Division of the HKIE, past Chairman of the IGEM, Far East District Section and past Council Member of the HKIE.

Ir Peter Chak joined the Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited in 1982, and had been engaged in a wide array of functions covering gas appliances and pipings installation, customer maintenance services, project design and planning, quality management, strategic development, market research and development, appliances sales and marketing, etc.  He is now the Vice Principal of the Towngas Engineering Academy.
